Oikos Institute for Social Impact Welcomes Imani Missouri to Board of Directors Chicago, IL. April 18, 2025 The Oikos Institute for Social Impact is delighted to announce the appointment of Imani Missouri to its Board of Directors. A dynamic leader dedicated to inspiring social impact, Missouri brings a wealth of experience in leadership development, community development, and philanthropy to advance the Institute’s mission of creating a brighter, more equitable world. Imani's career spans the nonprofit, community development, and education sectors. As a certified facilitator with the Center for Creative Leadership, she delivers leadership development training to Fortune 100 organizations. She recently served as Chair of the Board of Directors for DIFFvelopment, transitioning to Philanthropic Strategy Advisor, and currently leads the Global Youth Philanthropy Network in partnership with the African Youth Philanthropy Network, GADEF International, Philanthropy Together, and GivingTuesday. Previously, Imani led program strategy and development at Faith & Prejudice, designing strategies, curating programming, and fostering philanthropic engagement with faith-based communities nationwide. As Program Officer for the Knowledge Management & Strategy team at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), she drove multi-sector thought leadership, advanced racial equity strategies, and collaborated on talent development to build capacity in urban and rural communities. Imani holds a BA in Social Psychology from Smith College, an MS in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from The New School, a graduate certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from SUNY Empire State, and an Entrepreneurial Achievement certificate from the BE NYC Startup Intensive powered by FastTrac®. She also earned certificates in Religious Fundraising from the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving and Women’s Entrepreneurship & Financial Management from Cornell University. Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate in Philanthropic Leadership at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University.
